Bathroom Vanities
Non-porous, hygienic vanity tops that stay clean and mould-free in a wet room — ideal for residential bathrooms and hotel guest rooms at volume.
Bathrooms are warm, humid and in constant contact with water, soap and cosmetics. Natural stone can absorb moisture and harbour mould in the grout line and around the basin; Auro Quartz does not. The non-porous body resists water, cosmetics and limescale, making it the low-maintenance choice for vanity tops, splashbacks and shower surrounds.
Why quartz is the right surface for bathroom vanities
Non-porous & hygienic
≤0.02% water absorption means moisture cannot soak in, so the surface does not become a home for bacteria, mould or mildew around the basin.
Moisture & limescale resistant
Unlike marble, the surface is unaffected by constant humidity and shrugs off hard-water limescale and soap scum.
Easy to keep clean
Cosmetics, toothpaste, perfume and everyday spills wipe off with a damp cloth — no special cleaners and no sealing routine.
Cohesive look across the room
Run the same color from vanity top to splashback to shower wall for a seamless, designer-coordinated bathroom.
Recommended build for bathroom vanities
Vanity tops carry lighter loads than kitchens, so a slimmer slab keeps cost and weight down while a polished face stays easy to clean around the basin.
Thickness
12 / 20 mm
1.2 cm is enough for a wall-hung vanity; step up to 2 cm for freestanding units or a chunkier edge.
Finish
Polished
A polished face repels water and cosmetics and is the easiest to clean around taps and basins.
Edge profile
Eased or Bevel
A clean softened or beveled edge suits the lighter scale of a vanity top.
Edge profiles
Eased and Bevel keep vanity edges crisp and easy to wipe; reserve heavier Ogee profiles for statement pieces.
Surface finishes
Polished is best for wet areas; Honed is possible but shows water spotting in a bathroom.
Colors that suit bathrooms
Soft marble-look whites brighten compact bathrooms, while sparkle and veined ranges give a hospitality vanity a premium, spa-like feel.
Bathroom Vanities in the real world
Bathroom Vanities — frequently asked
Will a quartz vanity top get mouldy in a humid bathroom?
No. The surface is effectively non-porous (≤0.02% water absorption), so moisture cannot penetrate and there is nothing for mould or mildew to feed on. It is one of the most hygienic surfaces you can specify for a wet room.
How do I clean it around the basin and taps?
Just mild soap and warm water with a soft cloth. Cosmetics, toothpaste and limescale wipe away without abrasive cleaners. Avoid strong solvents and high-pH drain cleaners on the surface.
Can the vanity top, splashback and shower wall match?
Yes — that is one of quartz’s advantages. Because we control color batches tightly, you can run the same slab across vanity, splashback and shower surround for a coordinated finish, even across a multi-room hotel order.
